Location: A room in Macbeth’s castle

Characters:Duncan, Malcolm, Donalbain, Lenox, Macbeth, Banquo, Rosse, Angus

In act 1 scene 4 Macbeth sees his cousin Duncan the king and Malcolm for the first time since he met the Witches and they had said he would be king. Duncan names Malcolm air to the throne right when macbeth thought that he would leave it to fait to choose how he becomes king. Aside Macbeth says “The prince of cumberland!-That is a step I must fall down, or else o’erleap, for in my way it lies. Stars hide your fires! Let not light see my black an deep desires;”, This is showing that Macbeth was thinking of such bad things that would be about someone who could have him killed and he did not want to show anyone or let anyone find out about his dark thoughts.
